TikTok are Celebrating Aus Music Month with Three Live Streamed Performances

The Australian music industry has endured an incredibly tough 18-months due to COVID-19 and ongoing lockdowns so it’s important to support local talent more than ever this Aus Music Month.

This year, Rolling Stone Australia has partnered with TikTok to create an Aus Music Month editorial series that shines a light on Australian artists, venues and gigs as the country rebuilds its local music landscape.

TikTok is celebrating Aus Music Month with live streamed performances from some of the biggest names in Australian music, including Rüfüs Du Sol (Sunday 7th November, 7.00pm AEDT), DMA’S (Sunday 21st November, 7.00pm AEDT) and Inoxia (Thursday 11th November, 7.00pm AEDT), among many others.

The streams will live on TikTok through a dedicated Aus Music Month hub that will be available throughout all of November. The Hub also includes hashtags, filters and a fundraising event to help raise money for Support Act, Australia’s national charity for the music industry.

In 2020, as national lockdowns deprived fans of in-person music experiences, many artists took to TikTok to continue connecting with fans. It’s fitting then, that the entertainment platform continues supporting Australian music with this initiative.

Guitarist for the DMA’S, Johnny Took, says, “Aus Music Month has never come at a more important time! Things are opening up and we need to remember and re-ignite the amazing scene and talent we have in Australia.”

The hub will champion the Australian artists we all know and love, but also encourage its one billion users to check out those who have enjoyed their meteoric rise on TikTok, like pop artist Peach PRC. The Sydney-based artist is readying the official release of her new single, another diamond-encrusted pop gem.

“I’m so excited to release my new single “Heavy” which is a very personal song to me,” says Peach PRC. “It was one of the very first songs that I shared on TikTok when I started my TikTok journey nearly two years ago now.”

With restrictions easing and music fans busting to get back into pubs, clubs, stadiums and festivals to enjoy their favourite artists in the flesh, Australian music is about to get a whole lot louder. More than that, TikTok’s commitment to local music helps ensure this continues into a post lockdown world.
