This weekend’s episode of The Sound is set to serve as one of the season’s highlights, with the fifth episode of season two snaring a massive list of local artists.
Following in the footsteps of previous broadcasts such as The State of Music, the first season of the show premiered on July 19th, fittingly appearing in the timeslot once occupied by Countdown back in the day. Hosted by former Recovery host Jane Gazzo, alongside triple j’s Bridget Hustwaite, and a special guest each week, the program features live music and interviews that fans have long cried out for a return of.
With artists such as Nick Cave, Paul Kelly, Midnight Oil, and countless others appearing throughout the first two seasons of the show, each week has brought with it the announcement of an eclectic lineup that showcases the best and brightest artists in local music.
While the ‘From The Vault’ segment will feature an archival performance from Gurrumul, the likes of Tim Rogers, DZ Deathrays’ Shane Parsons, Mo’Ju, and WAAX will share a tribute to The Loved Ones and INXS.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will also feature television and radio veteran (and Gazzo’s former Recovery co-host) Dylan Lewis, alongside classical entertainer Tim McCallum.
The Sound is set to broadcast at 6pm on Sunday, November 29th, with an encore performance available on both iview, and the ABC on the following Saturday.
