The Smashing Pumpkins have added new shows to their upcoming Australian music festival.
The alternative rock icons caused quite the commotion when they recently revealed they were bringing The World Is A Vampire Festival Down Under in April. And after selling out the initial Sydney date, and with others selling quickly, new dates have been added to the festival.
The Smashing Pumpkins will now perform a huge outdoor show at Eatons Hill Hotel on Saturday, April 15th, as well as extra shows at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Port Melbourne’s PICA (see full dates below).
Other changes have been made to the festival. The original Hastings date has unfortunately been cancelled due to an update to Mornington Council’s Environmental Plan, but all Hastings tickets are valid for Port Melbourne on April 22nd or Ballarat on April 23rd. And the Newcastle show has been moved to April 29th due to the extra Sydney show, with all existing Newcastle tickets remaining valid for the new date.
The Smashing Pumpkins will be joined by a stunning lineup of special guests, including Melbourne punk rockers Amyl and the Sniffers, fellow ’90s icons Jane’s Addiction, and festival favourites RedHook.
Each show will also feature professional wrestling matches between Billy Corgan’s NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) and the WAOA (Wrestling Alliance of Australia).
