The Raconteurs Tease New Concert Doc, EP ‘Live at Electric Lady’

Band shares trailer for hour-long film, featuring a cameo from filmmaker Jim Jarmusch

The Raconteurs prep for a special concert at Electric Lady Studios in New York City in the new trailer for their upcoming documentary, The Raconteurs: Live at Electric Lady, out this Friday, May 27th.

The 60-second spot outlines a few elements from the upcoming documentary, which will boast a mix of performance footage, interviews and behind-the-scenes prep work. At one point, filmmaker Jim Jarmusch makes a cameo to describe Electric Lady as a “magical, mythical place,” while elsewhere Jack White and the rest of the band discuss how they’re going to approach of cover of Richard Hell and the Voidoids’ classic, “Blank Generation,” which was recorded at Electric Lady.

“Everyone who’s a musician on stage is doing something that they love and they’re trying to share it with someone else,” White says in the clip. “Some people fall into the trap of it being about authenticity, but I don’t think it’s about that — I think it’s about the attitude of what you did.”

The Live at Electric Lady doc will be accompanied by a Spotify-exclusive EP, which will be available to pre-save Thursday and, per a press release, will “become an enhanced album experience” when the EP arrives on Friday.

The Raconteurs released their most recent studio album, Help Us Stranger, last June. At the time, it marked the group’s first LP since 2008’s Consolers of the Lonely.
