The Jungle Giants have shared another taste of their forthcoming album Experiencing Feelings of Joy with the new single “A Moment Like That”.

Following February’s release, “Tell Me How It Feels”, and last month’s “Is It Love?”, the new song came out of frontman Sam Hales’ processing of a particularly turbulent part of his life, envisioning joy and excitement on the other side of it.

“It’s me backing myself, being in myself again and feeling confident” Hales said. “It felt really good to sing like that because I hadn’t sung like that in a long time, and it was all coming back. Essentially ‘A Moment Like That’ started to become literally about that moment, about me feeling good about myself again.”

Experiencing Feelings of Joy, out May 9th, careens from crushing personal loss to hopeful exuberance – an album Hales could only create after thinking he’d never be able to write one again.

“I’d overextended and kind of cooked it, but I really found myself,” he shared in March. “That’s where the joy comes from, having this unwavering hope even after experiencing adversity. This record is what everything culminated in for me, because I’m so in love with it and I’m so addicted to music again.”

Experiencing Feelings of Joy is The Jungle Giants’ first new album since 2021’s Love Signs, which became an ARIA No. 1. Since then, they’ve cemented their position at the forefront of Australia’s indie dance scene, amassing nearly a billion streams in the process.
