Sunshine Coast trio The Chats have announced a lineup change, with guitarist Josh “Pricey” Price departing the group recently.
The news was announced on the band’s social media account earlier today, sharing a picture of the current iteration of the lineup.
“We would love to take the opportunity to welcome our good mate Josh Hardy to the band, some may know him from his great rock n roll outfit, The Unknowns,” the group wrote.
“Unfortunately, Pricey is no longer in The Chats,” they continued. “He has gone on to do his own thing, and we wish him all the best.”
Newest member Josh Hardy has – as the post explains – spent his time serving as the vocalist of fellow Sunshine Coast band The Unknowns, who were recently announced as a support act on the band’s forthcoming “AC/DC CD” tour.
Hardy made his first appearance with the group a few weeks ago, starring in the film clip for the aforementioned “AC/DC CD” single. No acknowledgement of Pricey’s departure was made at the time, though fans began to put the pieces together after Hardy appeared on the upcoming tour poster.
It’s currently unknown what the future hold for Pricey, who had served as the band’s lead guitarist since their formation in 2016.
