As the ABC’s The Sound continues its second series, organisers have once again snared a star-studded list of names set to appear on its upcoming third episode.
Following in the footsteps of previous broadcasts such as The State of Music, the first season of the show premiered on July 19th, fittingly appearing in the timeslot once occupied by Countdown back in the day. Hosted by former Recovery host Jane Gazzo, alongside triple j’s Bridget Hustwaite, and a special guest each week, the program features live music and interviews that fans have long cried out for a return of.
With artists such as Nick Cave, Paul Kelly, Midnight Oil, and countless others appearing throughout the first two seasons of the show, each week has brought with it the announcement of an eclectic lineup that showcases the best and brightest artists in local music.
Now, organisers have revealed that this week’s episode is set to feature appearances from The Avalanches (along with Leon Bridges), DMA’S, Thelma Plum, Sam Fischer, Middle Kids, Odette, merci, mercy, and more.
With co-hosting duties being taken up by broadcaster, comedian, and author Matt Okine, episode three of The Sound will also feature a tribute to The Triffids, as performed by Youth Group, Clare Bowditch, Bob Evans, and Carla Geneve, while Silverchair will fill this week’s ‘From The Vault’ spot.
The Sound is set to broadcast at 6pm on Sunday, November 15th, with an encore performance available on both iview, and the ABC on the following Saturday.
