A week on from the announcement of the series, and just days after it first kicked off, the nascent Sounds Better Together run of concerts are set to wrap up next weekend with a special televised event.

Taking place on Channel Nine at 7:30pm on Saturday, January 30th, the final leg of the Sounds Better Together series is set to be broadcast, along with a series of highlights from concerts staged across the previous week.

First announced on January 18th, Sounds Better Together was envisioned as a way to bring music back to Victoria’s empty stages, with a litany of famed Aussie artists hitting up regional and metropolitan venues across the state to deliver exceptional sets.

While the likes of Something For Kate, The Living End, Alex Lahey, and Deborah Conway are set to perform across the next few days, the series began on Saturday evening, with performances from Tones And I, Didirri, Missy Higgins, Gordi, and much more.

Now, the final concert of the series is set to receive special attention via a televised event, with highlights from the rest of the performances across the week.

Broadcasting live from Mallacoota, the televised special will capture performances from James Reyne, Daryl Braithwaite, and Vika & Linda, along with highlights from the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Archie Roach, Ross Wilson, Birds Of Tokyo (with the MSO), and more.

“We’re honoured to be able to team up with Mushroom Group and Visit Victoria to broadcast this incredible initiative,” explained Nine Program Director, Hamish Turner in a statement. “Live music is such an important part of Australian culture.

“It gives a platform to so many talented musicians and brings joy to the audience. I hope by broadcasting 2021 Sounds Better Together on Nine, we can remind audiences of their love for live music and that we have hope for a better year for all ahead. We’d also encourage our viewers to get out and explore all that’s great about Victoria, especially after the particularly tough year the state endured.”
