Just days after the series was announced by Mushroom Group and Visit Victoria, the Sounds Better Together run of concerts has expanded with another five dates, with the latest lineup adding the likes of The Living End, Alex Lahey, Ross Wilson, and more.

Originally announced on Monday, the Sounds Better Together concert series serves as a way for music-starved Victorians to come out in droves to support some of the state’s finest artists in some of Victoria’s finest venues over the course of a week.

Beginning on Saturday, January 23rd and running until the 30th, the first run of concerts saw the likes of Tones and I, Missy Higgins, Jimmy Barnes, Daryl Braithwaite, and James Reyne announced as performers, while a performance from Something For Kate was revealed the following day.

Now, with just two days to go before things kick off in full force, the Sounds Better Together series has expanded once again with five new shows.

Leading the lineup is Alex Lahey and Scott Darlow, who will take over The Espy’s Gershwin Room in St Kilda on Monday, January 25th, while Ross Wilson and Fergus Janes will descend upon Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal two days later.

The Living End and Bakers Eddy will hit up The Forum, Didirri and Mia Wray will appear at Warrnambool’s Whalers Hotel, and Pierce Brothers and Shannen James will light up San Remo’s Westernport Hotel on January 29th.

“Live music has always been an essential part of life in Victoria so it’s exciting to finally be getting back to playing gigs here again,” explained 2021 Sounds Better Together performer Missy Higgins at the program’s official launch. “Hopefully these special shows can be a bit of a thank you to everyone for all the sacrifices they made last year.”

Tickets to all these new shows go on sale from 12pm today (Thursday, January 21st), while limited tickets remain for most of the previously-announced dates.
