As the Brisbane outfit look toward the release of their forthcoming album, The Jensens have shared a new taste by way of latest single “Paper Walls”.
Officially released last week, “Paper Walls” is the first new single from The Jensens since the arrival of “River Of Gold” back in March. Set to appear on their new album, Hammer and Blush, when it arrives in May of 2021, vocalist and guitarist Joe White explains that the track was inspired by the advent of internal struggles and hope for a brighter personal future.
“Paper walls are resolutions without any weight – like sand castle promises to yourself, washed away by the weekend,” White explains. “Unending internal conversations about doing more, being more, and seeing more, when you realise you’ve once again chosen bad habits over hard work. And who could blame you?
“But there’s still a desire for self improvement that doesn’t go away, so you turn your back on your former self, again and again. It’s not about being hard on yourself, it’s about having faith in a vision of a better version of you.”
“Paper Walls” also comes alongside a music video directed, filmed, and edited by James Hornsby, and showcases the group’s fun-loving, tongue-in-cheek nature via its split-screen format.
The Jensens will also be hitting the road in coming weeks, with a trio of socially-distanced Queensland shows planned to celebrate the release of their new single.
The Jensens’ “Paper Walls” is out now, while the group will be performing a series of shows around Queensland in November and December, with details available below.
