As Perth musician Riley Pearce gears up to release his forthcoming album, he’s given fans a taste of what to expect by way of his latest single, “8 Hour Drive”.
Released this week, “8 Hour Drive” is a heartfelt ode to being on tour and away from home, focusing on the bittersweet nature of missing those you care about, while being enchanted by new experiences. “It was an 8-hour drive, I couldn’t get you out of my mind. I saw three countries pass by, I was so wide-eyed,” Pearce sings as luscious instrumentation and gentle rhythms complement his smooth voice.
While details surrounding his upcoming album are currently forthcoming, Pearce has announced he’ll be bringing his new single to fans across the country when he hits the road in March for his first national tour in two years.
Visiting Margaret River, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide, before bringing it full circle with a return trip to Fremantle in mid-April, it’ll be a chance for fans to hear songs new and old, and relive experience of seeing live music after so long away.
