A veteran of the Australian music scene, 2021 sees Miriam Lieberman returning with her sixth studio album, which arrives this month. Armed with her new single, “Infinite We Are”, the acclaimed artist has now given fans a taste of the track’s stunning music video ahead of its official release.
An award-winning artist whose unique sound is thanks in part to her fondness of West African and global influences (including prominent use of the kora), Lieberman has been turning heads for years now, having released close to half-a-dozen uniquely enthralling records across her career.
Now, with a new album on the way, Lieberman has shared her latest single, with “Infinite We Are” serving as a resounding cut about the power of imagination, “about sharing our dreams, stories and imaginings as a way to go beyond our own limitations, and the benefit of dreaming”.
Inspired bu the likes of Joni Mitchell, Tracey Chapman, Toumani Diabate, and Paul Simon, “Infinite We Are” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Josh Schuberth at Endomusia, creating an otherworldly composition which sees Lieberman’s intoxicating voice ebbing and flowing across the four-minute cut.
“I feel very lucky to be working with two beautiful musicians, Susie Bishop and Lara Goodridge as a trio,” Liberman explains. “Susie and Lara play violin and sing beautiful harmonies, whilst I sing and play the kora (a 21 stringed African harp) and guitar.
“In this crazy past year of uncertainty, I’ve come back to my songwriting after a hiatus of becoming a mum. The result is an album of new songs about our incredible and fragile planet, about becoming a mum, about imagination and about our need for each other. It’s my intention to empower and uplift people with this music.”
Accompanying the new single with a dazzling film clip featuring animation by Aidan Judd, “Infinite We Are” is a truly powerful track that will likely leave the listener speechless once the full depth of its beauty and intensity unfolds before you.
To celebrate the release of the single, Liberman will also be performing a launch show at Sydney’s Rhythm Hut on May 7th in trio format. Full details are available below.
