2021 is undoubtedly shaping up to be a big one for Drapht, who just this week has unveiled a brand new single, “Problem Here”, as he gears up to launch his new record and hit the road.
Released on Wednesday, “Problem Here” sees Drapht teaming up with Complete and Eli Greeneyes to showcase his classic, fearless sound, all while spitting lyrics that feel almost universally-relatable given the events of the last two years.
“It was the last song written for my album,” Drapht says of the inspiration behind the track, which follows on from last month’s “Shadows on My Walls”. “I had just bought my dream house in the hills of Perth, and the week I moved all my stuff in – planes started flying over.
“Then I found termites in the roof, snakes in the backyard, and to top it all off I have a toddler at home and I decided to throw a puppy in the mix just for some extra excitement. It was all a tad bit stressful…!”
Meanwhile, the track also comes paired with a clip directed, filmed, and edited by his Perth friends Uncool Sam & Complete at Drop Shot Media. Equal parts comical and contextual, it’s a classic Drapht clip that shows a playful side in the midst of negativity.
“This clip was loads of fun and super easy to make, as we just focused on bringing the lyrics to life within the house where the initial idea came about,” Drapht adds. “Thankfully the termites and snakes weren’t living there anymore.”
“Problem Here” is on track to appear on Drapht’s forthcoming album, Shadows and Shinings, which is released on September 10th. In addition to the new record’s arrival, Drapht will be hitting the road for a national tour which kicks off in early September, with full details available below.
