Sydney’s Birdee has unveiled one of the slickest bedroom pop tracks you’ll hear this year, providing the best start to the week by way of the recently-released “Monday Throwaway”.

Having been on the scene for a couple of years now, Birdee has fast been turning heads thanks to her infectious tracks and immersive songwriting. Having last released “Pulling Strings” back in July, this month has seen the arrival of latest track, “Monday Throwaway”.

Despite its fitting title for a day such as today, “Monday Throwaway” officially arrived at the end of last week, and came paired with production and co-writing efforts from Toby Anagnostis (Butter Bath) and arrangement and co-production from Budo J. Miller, allowing the lyrics ā€“ which speak of grasping every opportunity as it comes ā€“ to sit atop a gorgeously hazy instrumental that is as catchy as it is effective.

“‘Monday Throwaway’ is about the days of being young and youthful, enjoying the young adulthood of freedom while it lasts,” Birdee explains of the track.

A resonant gem of the bedroom pop world that showcases Birdee’s talents as a powerful performer, it currently remains to be seen what’s next for the acclaimed artist. However, in the meantime, “Monday Throwaway” serves as a gorgeous indicator of all the big things that are yet to follow in her burgeoning career.
