The general manager of the Sydney live venue that hosted Snoop Dogg this past weekend has responded after punters demanded refunds.
Per news.com.au, many fans took to social media to complain that the rap legend, who had performed at the AFL grand final in Melbourne earlier that day, was advertised to appear at Bella LIVE at 9pm.
However, Snoop Dogg did not take to the stage until just after 2am. According to reports, concertgoers were told by the MC at 11.30pm that the California rapper was an hour away and then 20 minutes away at 1am.
In a statement given to Rolling Stone AU/NZ, Bella LIVE general manager, Richard Saliba, said he acknowledged concerns about the late start time and offered an explanation.
“Unfortunately, an unforeseen breakdown on the Harbour Bridge delayed the artist’s arrival. This was completely beyond the control of both the organisers and the artist,” Saliba said.
“Set times were communicated in advance with a clear note that they were indicative and subject to change, and guests were kept updated on the night through our MC.
“Snoop Dogg did perform his full set as promised, and we are pleased to have delivered the headline experience in full.

“We remain grateful for the support of everyone who attended and are proud to have hosted such a landmark performance.”
Snoop Dogg’s AFL performance was largely met with a positive reaction, and he was also joined on stage by Australian favourites like Jess Mauboy, Baker Boy and Tash Sultana.
Mauboy made a guest appearance midway through to sing “Beautiful”, to a roar from the crowd, while Sultana joined his band for what was a show-stopping performance.
Baker Boy also joined him on stage, accompanied by a powerful choir featuring Emma Donovan and Kee’ahn, both of whom contributed to latest single “THICK SKIN” from his upcoming album DJANDJAY.
