It was just over a week ago that beloved rockers Skegss announced a light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel, with a run of socially-distanced shows taking place in Brunswick Heads this week.
Announced in support of their latest single, “Under the Thunder”, these shows weren’t set to be your average Skegss show however. In fact, while the limited crowd numbers meant that only 100 people would be able to attend, the group decided to use this to their advantage and plot something of a formal affair for their fans.
Having kicked off on Wednesday, July 8th, the run of shows are seeing Skegss performing across four consecutive nights, with the gigs taking on the full appearance of a black tie affair.
With the audience being asked to attend in formal attire (a press release for the event specifically notes “no suit, no entry”) and seated at socially-distanced theatre-style round tables, the shows are also featuring a night full of entertainment that will likely never again occur at a Skegss concert, including the likes of a magician, cheese platters, and limited edition merchandise.
After the Wednesday and Thursday night events sold out, Skegss have now announced a fifth and final performance, set to take place at 6pm AEST on Saturday, July 11th.
Supported by Adam Newling at these events, the previous two performances have already seen Skegss at their immersive and endearing best, while the forthcoming shows are set to be just as special.
Physical tickets to their Friday evening and Saturday afternoon shows are already sold out, though tickets to the livestreams of these performances are still available. Meanwhile, tickets to Skegss’ newly-announced Saturday evening show are on sale now.
