Kiwi legends Six60 have curated a brand new country and roots festival, Sweet Home Aotearoa, bringing a taste of Nashville to New Zealand next year.

Set for Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at Matakana Country Park, the one-day festival will celebrate good music and good times, promising to be “the ultimate summer experience”.

With the band’s vision to share “a bit of Nashville under the Aotearoa sun”, Sweet Home Aotearoa will pair world-class artists with laid-back summer vibes, delicious food and drink from local legends, and a uniquely Kiwi atmosphere.

Whether you’re a diehard country fan, a roots revivalist, or just chasing that warm festival feeling, Sweet Home Aotearoa is the perfect way to start the new year.

Joining Six60 on the festival’s lineup are a number of incredible New Zealand acts. Tami Neilson, one of the country’s most celebrated voices, will showcase her ability to blend country, soul and rock with an electric set, while Hori Shaw, a rising force in Aotearoa’s roots and reggae scene, will bring his heartfelt storytelling to the stage.

NZ-born Samoan country artist The Western Guide will also perform, as will emerging country singer-songwriter Rosie Teese.

Also on the lineup are Alabama rapper and songwriter Yelawolf, Australian stars Tash Sultana (DJ Set) and Brad Cox, five-piece South Summit, and up-and-comer Rachael Fahim.

The festival marks another milestone in Six60’s career, which includes being the first New Zealand band to sell out Auckland’s 50,000-seat Western Springs Stadium, and headlining a post-Covid concert at Eden Park.

The band was named the first-ever Aotearoa Charts Icon at the Aotearoa Music Awards earlier this year, which celebrated the domination of Official Charts over time. There, they also claimed the Te Taumata o te Hokona | Highest Selling Artist Tūī, a title they’ve now secured a record seven times.

Six60 have been a constant on the charts for 15 years. No other Kiwi act comes close when it comes to volume: 28 Top 40 singles, three #1s, four chart-topping albums. Their tracks have spent 586 combined weeks on the Singles Chart; their albums, a staggering 1,232 weeks on the Albums Chart. Add to that 38x platinum album certs and 48x platinum singles, and the scale starts to sink in.

They are also set to headline the Big Pineapple Festival on the Sunshine Coast later this year, alongside Hilltop Hoods, The Cat Empire, The Jungle Giants, PNAU, and more, and are also due for a performance on the Sydney Opera House Steps on December 11th.
