Sia enlisted the help of recent Grammy winner Kylie Minogue for her latest single, “Dance Alone.”
The duo reunited 10 years after previously working together on Minogue’s Kiss Me Once. The blissful pop track will appear on Sia’s Reasonable Woman, out May 3 via Atlantic Records. “I am not afraid/I know I’ll be ok/There’s nothing you can say,” the song declares before diving into the chorus: “I just want to dance alone/I ain’t never going home… I just want to dance alone/I just want to lose my phone.”
Sia’s upcoming record will be her first solo full-length album in eight years and, together with Minogue, will feature Chaka Khan, Paris Hilton, Tierra Whack, Labrinth, Kaliii, and Jimmy Jolliff.
In October, the “Chandelier” singer released “Gimmie Love.” The artist’s last pop album was 2016’s This Is Acting, and the following year she dropped Everyday Is Christmas. Her album, Music – Songs from and Inspired by the Motion Picture, based on the musical she directed, came out in 2021.
Last May, two years after issued an apology for her depiction of autism in the 2020 film Music, Sia shared that had recently been diagnosed with autism. The singer discussed her personal developments since receiving her diagnosis, stating on Rob Has a Podcast: “For 45 years, I was like, ‘I’ve got to go put my human suit on.’ And only in the last two years have I become fully, fully myself.”
Minogue won this year’s Grammy for Best Pop Dance Recording for “Padam Padam” from her 16th studio album Tension. It was her first Grammy trophy in two decades, having previously won Best Dance Recording in 2004 for “Come Into My World.”
