Missed out on tickets to Shihad’s sold-out show in Auckland next week? Don’t stress, you’re in luck.

The iconic Wellington rockers are adding one last stop to their final New Zealand tour, hitting Auckland’s Powerstation on Wednesday, March 12th.

This week, they made history, breaking the record for the most tickets ever sold to a NZ-headlined hard rock concert with their sold-out Spark Arena gig on March 14th.

The tour will wrap up where it all began, with Shihad’s final performance set for Wellington’s Homegrown on Saturday, March 15th.

“After performing at the Powerstation countless times over the past 37 years, including our very first Auckland show in 1989, it feels only right to tread the boards one last time and say goodbye to a place that’s always felt like home to us, and say thank you to all who have supported us for so long,” the band shared.

For this Powerstation show, fans will hear Killjoy (1995) and The General Electric (1999) played back-to-back, with the gig promising an “intimate experience” and “a rare opportunity to see Shihad in a more personal setting.”

Tickets are on sale now at shihad.com.

Formed in 1988, Shihad grew out of the thrash metal scene to become one of the most beloved rock acts in Australia and New Zealand. With ten studio albums and a haul of awards, their influence extends far beyond record sales. Over the years, they’ve shared stages with Faith No More, Tool, and Black Sabbath.

Announcing their final tour last November, the band knew stepping away wouldn’t be easy.

“We’ve had as much fun as we’ve had moments of disappointment and of anger,” said bassist Karl Kippenberger. “But we’ve also had some real special moments.”

Vocalist Jon Toogood summed it up: “We need to pay homage to the legacy of this band, because it’s meant so much to us and also to the people that have supported us. We’re gonna fucking hit it!”
