The long-awaited double-header Australian tour from rock icons Scorpions and Whitesnake has again been marred by trouble, with the tour’s Brisbane leg being cancelled due to a medical emergency.
Kicking off their tour on Wednesday, the three-date tour was set to see the two bands hit up Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane over the course of the coming week. Unfortunately, Saturday brought with it the news that the evening’s performance has been postponed due to a “medical emergency within the Scorpions tour party.”
Though no further details had been released regarding when this show might be made up, the bad news has continued, with Live Nation today revealing that the third and final date of the tour has now been cancelled.
Originally slated for Monday night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, the upcoming show has now been cancelled for the same reason that saw the Sydney show pushed forward.
Unfortunately, this is yet another harsh blow to Australian (and especially Sydney-based) fans of the Scorpions. While the band made their first-ever trip down under back in 2016, this appearance was limited to just one show only in Melbourne.
Two years later, the group returned alongside Def Leppard, though their Sydney performance was axed after vocalist Klaus Meine fell ill at the eleventh hour. Now, their latest trek has once again been beset by misfortune, though it appears that they’re eager to give their New South Wales fans the show they’ve been yearning for.
At this stage, there’s no word as to when the postponed Sydney show will receive a new date, though ticketholders are urged to keep an eye on the social media accounts of the band and Live Nation Australia for any further updates.
