RÜFÜS DU SOL Announce 2022 National ‘Surrender’ Tour

“We’ve planned four different tours of Australia and New Zealand since 2019 and haven’t been able to announce any of them,” the group said in a statement.

Just days after scoring their third chart-topping album, Sydney icons RÜFÜS DU SOL have unveiled a run of national tour dates in support of their latest record, Surrender.

Arriving after a lengthy period of spent dealing with the current global environment we find ourselves in, Surrender was released late last month as one of the band’s most accomplished records to date.

Releasing their last album by way of 2018’s Solace, RÜFÜS DU SOL found themselves in good stead, with the promotional and performance side of things taking them to stages around the world, and expanding their fanbase at every turn.

By the time that writing had begun for their fourth album, things were looking good, but unfortunately, a global pandemic soon took over. Having recently released their Live from Joshua Tree album just days before widespread lockdowns took hold, it was enough to tide fans over while the band themselves took their time to take stock of the world, before retreating inward to rely on music and their shared camaraderie to get them through.

“We definitely put ourselves in uncomfortable situations between ourselves, and we did reflect a lot,” Jon George told Rolling Stone Australia. “So I can see that coming through in the work.”

Now, with the record giving the band’s third chart-topping release, RÜFÜS DU SOL have unveiled a national run of tour dates in support of the record, kicking off late next year. Beginning in Brisbane on November 26th, the five date tour will see the band perform in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, before closing out proceedings in Perth on December 17th.

“We’re coming home, finally!” the trip gushed in a statement, “And we’re bringing the biggest production we’ve ever toured with and we couldn’t be more excited about it.

“We’ve planned four different tours of Australia and New Zealand since 2019 and haven’t been able to announce any of them. We wanted to make sure when we announce a show, it’s gonna happen and we are confident this tour is happening and we’re are going to make up for lost time with you all.”

In addition to the tour, RÜFÜS DU SOL have also unveiled a competition for dedicated concertgoers, giving one super fan and a friend the chance to go on tour with the band across all five shows in Australia, with flights, hotels, VIP tickets, and more all included.

Valued at over $10,000, fans can enter the competition by registering for the Artist Pre-sale and earning points. The highest point scorer before 11:59pm AEDT on Sunday, November 7th will be crowned as the winner., with runners-up set to take home merch packs, VIP double-passes, and access to a secret pre-sale on on Monday, November 8th.
