Australian stars Rose Byrne and Jacob Elordi are enjoying a stellar awards season so far.
Both actors have earned 2026 BAFTA nominations: Byrne is up for Leading Actress for (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You) and Elordi is nominated for Leading Actor (Frankenstein).
The pair also earned their first-ever Oscar nominations last week, Byrne up for Best Actress for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and Elordi up for Best Supporting Actor for Frankenstein. Byrne also won the Golden Glove for her performance in Mary Bronstein’s film.
Their fellow Aussie Nick Cave, meanwhile, will compete in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars thanks to his work on Train Dreams.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another leads the BAFTA nominations with 14 nods, just two behind the record set by Gandhi.
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners follows closely behind with 13 nominations, the highest tally for any film by a Black director in BAFTA history.
Hamnet and Marty Supreme have 11 nominations, with the former now having the highest number of BAFTA nominations from a female director (Chloé Zhao).

Elordi’s next film is Wuthering Heights, helmed by Saltburn director Emerald Fennell.
He stars opposite fellow Aussie Margot Robbie in the film, and the latter recently noted how she felt “codependent” with her co-star “quite quickly.”
“I remember the first couple days on set, he would just be like, always in the vicinity of where I was, but in a corner watching,” Robbie revealed in a Fandango panel interview alongside the cast and crew (as per E! News). “On the third day, I found myself starting to look around to see where he was. I was like, ‘Well obviously he’s going to be somewhere close by. Where is he right now?’”
