Rod Stewart has found a new dad for his postponed A Day on the Green performance at Mt Duneed Estate.
At the eleventh hour, the legendary crooner announced he couldn’t perform at the Geelong venue on Saturday, March 18th. Posting to Instagram, Stewart revealed that he had a viral infection that had rendered him unable to sing.
“I’m absolutely downhearted that I’m disappointing my fans who bought tickets to A Day On The Green,” he wrote at the time. “Late this morning I was advised that I have a viral infection and my throat is too irritated to sing. I’m only human and sometimes get sick just like you do.”
Just a few days later, though, and things are looking brighter. Stewart will now perform at Mt Duneed Estate on Friday, March 31st, which will also be the star’s final Victorian show.
“I’m so happy to tell you all that I’m feeling great and my A Day on the Green concert in Geelong is happening on Friday 31st of March!” Stewart says, urging fans to hang on to their tickets.
“I hope you can still make it. It’s going to be extra fun with my friends Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens. I look forward to seeing you there – we’re going to have a great time down in Geelong next Friday,” he adds.
For those who can make it, tickets will be automatically valid for the new date without the need for exchange; for those can’t make it, they’ll be entitled to a full refund from their authorised point of purchase. It should be noted that refund requests must be submitted to Ticketmaster by 5pm on Tuesday, March 28th.
There are still tickets remaining for all upcoming A Day on the Green shows via Ticketmaster.
