Radio Free Alice are continuing their jam-packed year with a brand new single released today, “Rule 31.” Released to celebrate the conclusion of their UK and Ireland tour, the band managed to create the song in Connecticut during a few days off from their US tour.
Produced with Peter Kapis (Interpol, The National), the song is rife with urgency, possibly a symptom of the narrow window they had to produce it, but it’s also symbolic of the breakneck pace the band has moved, and continues to move, up the charts and onto stages worldwide.
Frontman Noah Learmonth said, “Rule 31 came about during a soundcheck whilst on tour. The bassline came first and we just built it up from there. We recorded it at Peter’s beautiful house-studio in Connecticut when we had a couple days off from shows.”

The band’s UK tour has been a rousing success, with the group arriving in-country with measured expectations — only to play six sold-out shows in London. Their slot at Reading and Leeds Festival was booked a few short weeks in advance, but was met with a similarly massive turnout. So was the rest of their tour across the US, and again in the UK — all sold out.
RFA has announced their next slew of gigs too. As well as their headline spots at Sydney’s Libertine Hall and Melbourne’s Meredith Festival in December, they’ll be supporting NYC rockers Geese on their Aus tour across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in February 2026 — you can get tickets here. Then later in the year, they’ll return to the UK and Europe for another festival circuit.
In August, Radio Free Alice released their third EP, Empty Words. Their previous EP, Polyester, has racked up over 3 million streams since its release in 2024. It ranked fourth on Rolling Stone AU/NZ‘s Best Australian EPs of 2024. They followed that launch with support slots on The Killers’ Australia tour and a co-headline national run with Big Special, and sold-out headline shows last August.
Their self-titled debut EP was also nominated for Best Independent Punk Album or EP at the 2025 AIR Awards, and the band was among the names in the Readers’ Choice category at the 2025 Rolling Stone AU/NZ Awards.
