Radio Free Alice have officially announced their long-awaited debut album, What’s In Between, set for release on October 30th via Atlantic Records.
The Naarm/Melbourne post-punk outfit have also shared the album’s latest single, “Crying With You”, accompanied by a music video directed by Milo Hume (Geese, Quarters).
The announcement arrives at a particularly busy moment for the Australian band, who last week drew more than 500 fans to a DIY pop-up show beneath a railway bridge in Bermondsey, London. With little more than a teaser post to go on, fans tracked down the location for an early taste of the music to come.
“Crying With You” was written considerably further from London, during a writing retreat in California’s Joshua Tree.
“We were staying at this beautiful property owned by producer Nicolas Vernhes, surrounded by desert and Joshua trees for about a week and recorded a handful of demos and jams,” frontman Noah Learmonth explained.
“The verse and chorus were originally different songs, but we stitched them together, which is something we like to do quite a lot.”
That cut-and-paste approach has surfaced before.Previous single “Kick in the Shins” was similarly born from two unfinished songs, with the band combining the verse of one with the chorus of another to create the frenetic track.

For Learmonth, however, announcing What’s In Between represents something considerably bigger.
“It’s a huge relief to finally announce the album,” he said. “We’ve lived with these songs for such a long time and they’ve become such a big part of our lives, so knowing there’s now a date when they’ll finally exist outside of us feels incredibly cathartic.”
The record continues Radio Free Alice’s international collaboration with producer Peter Katis, whose credits include Interpol, The National and Death Cab for Cutie, alongside production contributions from Ewan Pearson and Finn Billingham.
The album caps a significant period of growth for the group. Their first Atlantic Records release, “Lunch Money”, arrived in June before they made their Governor’s Ball debut in New York and played a sold-out after-show at Baby’s All Right. “Kick in the Shins” followed in July.
Earlier this year, Rolling Stone AU/NZ named Radio Free Alice among its Future of Music 2026 artists, with the band revealing at the same time that their debut album was finally on the way.
Their international schedule is showing no signs of slowing down, either. Following festival appearances across Europe and the UK, Radio Free Alice are set to play Reading Festival before returning to the US for Chicago’s Riot Fest and Austin City Limits. An extensive UK and European headline tour will follow in November.
