Beloved Aussie folk duo the Pierce Brothers have added a number of Australian dates to their 2026 touring schedule.
In support of their recently released fourth studio album Moonrise, which took out No. 1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart, the pair will kick off their Australian tour next March with headline shows in Newcastle, Sydney, Adelaide, Mildura, Castlemaine, Barwon Heads, Cairns, Melbourne, Mangrove Mountain, and Port Macquarie (see dates below).
They’ll play Port Fairy Folk Festival on March 7th before hitting the road, with stops along the way at Wide Open Spaces Festival in Beulah on March 21st, and Byron Bay Bluesfest on April 3rd.
Tickets will go on sale at 10am (local) on Wednesday, December 10th – see here for details.
Solidifying their reputation as gifted and boundless creatives, Moonrise weaves open-vein storytelling with heartfelt delivery and a kinetic take on folk, indie and rock-hued terrain, once again self-produced by the brothers, Jack Pierce and Patrick Pierce, alongside with their long-time friend and collaborator Phil Threlfall.
Across the space of 12 tracks, it effortlessly picks up where their 2024 No. 1 charting album Everything is Bigger Than Me left off, with Moonrise resoundingly broadening the duo’s craftsmanship while also presenting. In our 4-star review of Everything is Bigger Than Me, the record was described to “capture chaos, change, and a surprising amount of catharsis”.
Love Music?

Of the new album, Patrick Pierce told Rolling Stone AU/NZ in a recent interview: “This album definitely has a lot more love songs. Less melodramatic, and more just talking about things that were going on being in our mid-thirties — family, loss. In the past, a big theme was anxiety and pressure and trepidation. I feel like there’s maybe less of those themes this time. We’ve kind of found a bit of a track that we can sit in.”
The brothers just wrapped up a special run of album release shows Down Under, where they played nine sets in seven days. “It was exhausting but also so much more new material in one sitting than we’ve ever performed! And some of those tracks absolutely go off live! Can’t wait to touring them globally in 2026,” Jack Pierce said.
The recent shows offered the duo a chance to brainstorm new ideas for the 2026 run, including experimenting with new instruments, new set design, and more. “Right now we just need to find those little surprises in the new songs. The things that we can do extra that make the moment special! We’re constantly looking for those little 1%ers,” Jack added.
