Peach PRC has touchy subjects on her mind in her new single.
The song, appropriately titled “Touchy Subject”, finds the Australian pop star contemplating a relationship that ended because of a shared trauma, leaving the dissolution of the relationship as both a poignant and bittersweet end. It’s a relatable scenario: most of us have experienced a relationship that was impacted by forces outside of our control.
As Peach notes, though, seeing the ex in question move on with their life can make you feel both happy and sad at the same time.
You can listen to “Touchy Subject” below, and also check out the single artwork that was personally hand-drawn by Peach. “Touchy Subject” follows Peach’s previous 2024 single “Secret”, which detailed a forbidden romance.
Last month, the singer-songwriter wrapped her Australian tour, which saw her perform in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney supported by Carla Wehbe. Now she turns her attention towards her biggest headline shows to date on ‘The Secret PRC Tour’, which will take Peach to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, and more North American cities in June (ticket information here). She’ll then return to Australia to appear at Spin Off Festival in Adelaide on July 19th.
Peach’s Australian tour followed her highly anticipated performance at the Australian Open Finals Festival Pride Day in January. Ahead of her performance at the event, she spoke about her personal and creative transformation in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
Peach released her debut EP, Manic Dream Pixie, last year to highly positive reviews. The EP debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart and earned three nominations, including Best Pop Release (“Perfect for You”) at the 2023 ARIA Awards. The EP track “Perfect for You” also reached number 62 on triple j’s 2023 Hottest 100 earlier this year. Peach also earned the Best Single Award at the 2024 Shure Rolling Stone Australia Awards for “Perfect for You”.
Peach PRC’s “Touchy Subject” is out now.
