Paul Kelly is bringing back his ‘Making Gravy’ concert for another year.
The beloved event will take place at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Friday, December 9th. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, October 5th at 1pm local time. The Frontier Members presale begins on Monday, October 3rd at 1pm local time.
‘Making Gravy’ will once again see Kelly perform songs from his acclaimed decades-long career, including, of course, his classic hit “How to Make Gravy”, one of Australia’s most celebrated unofficial anthems.
For the 2022 edition, the singer-songwriter will be joined by three of Australasia’s finest current artists. Melbourne punks Amyl and the Sniffers will bring some thrilling energy to Sidney Myer Music Bowl, fresh off the back of a stellar year of touring that’s saw the four-piece impress sell-0ut audiences both at home and abroad.
Auckland’s power-pop group The Beths will journey over to Melbourne riding high after the release of their third studio album, Expert in a Dying Field, which debuted at number one in New Zealand. Lead singer Liz Stokes recently spoke to Rolling Stone AU/NZ, discussing the making of their new album and the strength of their home country’s music scene.
Alex the Astronaut completes the ‘Making Gravy’ lineup, also enjoying a strong 2022 thanks to the performance of her second studio album, How to Grow a Sunflower Underwater, which debuted at number four on the ARIA Albums Chart. The singer-songwriter also made history in August by becoming the first-ever artist to perform live at the peak of the SkyPoint climb on Gold Coast’s Q1, Australia’s tallest building.
