Sydney-based artist Oliver Cronin has started the year with his latest single, “Hello Goodbye”.
The song explores the ups and downs of a difficult relationship, touching on feelings of desire, temptation, guilt, and confusion. Cronin’s melodic vocals take centre stage, building up to a catchy chorus with hard-hitting beats and synths that reflect the emotional turbulence.
“Hello Goodbye” follows the release of previous singles “Speed Bump”, “I Need You” with Lil Xxel, and “1,2,3” with Topic, as well as some viral Tik Tok remixes in 2023 by artists like Doja Cat and RAYE.
“’Hello Goodbye”’is the first song I linked with Nick and Skimmy on in LA. They saw something in me in that session that I hadn’t seen in myself,” Cronin says. “It’s a song that is sonically in this early 00’s alt pop space that I never would have thought of making if I hadn’t linked up with them.
“In the same room we wrote ‘Hello Goodbye’, the guys wrote ‘The Nights’ with Avicii. We talked about creating something like that track that became a timeless record, and capture the feeling that song gives you. Nick and skimmy ended up playing a pivotal part in the album, so this track was the start of that journey together.”
Cronin is set to kick off his debut headline tour next month with all-ages shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, beginning on Thursday, March 7th at Mary’s Underground in Sydney.
