It looks like we finally know who’s replacing Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs at the Oasis reunion shows in Australia.

It was revealed at the beginning of the month that Bonehead, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, will miss the next leg of the Britpop band’s 2025 reunion tour.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the guitarist told fans that he had responded “really well to treatment,” which allowed him to participate in the first part of the Oasis reunion jaunt. “Now,” he explained, “I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney.”

Bonehead continued: “I’m really sad to be missing these shows but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America. Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November.”

Oasis shared Bonehead’s statement on Instagram Stories, writing, “Wishing you all the best with your treatment … we’ll see you back on stage in South America.”

Oasis initially didn’t say who would be filling in for Bonehead during the upcoming shows, but it looks like someone very familiar to Liam Gallagher will be stepping in as his replacement.

As reported by The Mirror, sources close to Oasis have confirmed that Mike Moore, who played in Liam’s solo band, will cover the Asian and Australian reunion legs. Moore was even spotted at Seoul airport over the weekend.

This is not Bonehead’s first cancer scare. Back in 2022, he announced that he was stepping away from a run of shows with Liam after being diagnosed with tonsillar cancer. Just a few months later, he revealed that his treatment had been successful, with a full scan revealing the cancer was “all clear.”

Oasis recently wrapped the UK leg of their reunion tour with two shows at Wembley Stadium in London.

With Oasis’ first world tour in over a decade about to land in Australia, fans are getting another reason to get nostalgic — the Britpop icons are opening official Oasis ‘Live ’25’ Fan Stores in Melbourne and Sydney later this month.
