A bitter sibling feud broke Oasis apart for over a decade and a half, fuelling a triumphant return to hometown Manchester hailed as a cultural phenomenon.

Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited on stage at Heaton Park on July 11 for the first of five sold-out shows, igniting 80,000 fans with a career-spanning set packed with the band’s biggest hits.

Oasis have now released a live version of “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” recorded during the historic Manchester show. The track originally appeared on their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe, alongside now-iconic songs like “Live Forever” and “Supersonic.”

While it may not enjoy the same enduring popularity as some of the band’s later hits, “Cigarettes & Alcohol” was praised for its raw depiction of working-class disillusionment in post-industrial Manchester.

Lyrics like “Is it worth the aggravation to find yourself a job when there’s nothing worth working for?” captured the mood of a generation facing mass unemployment.

It follows a previous release of a live version of “Slide Away”, recorded during their first performance in 16 years at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July.

The comeback gig kicked off a massive 40-date world tour, silencing years of speculation with sold-out stadiums and a wave of nostalgia-fuelled excitement.

Returning to the stage has also reignited interest in their catalogue. On the UK Official Albums Chart, their singles collection Time Flies… 1994–2009 shot to Number One, while Definitely Maybe and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? both landed back in the Top Five.

(What’s The Story) Morning Glory is set to receive a deluxe edition to mark it’s 30th anniversary, dropping on October 3rd. Oasis are also release a “Complete Studio Album Collection” box set on August 22nd. Both of while can be pre-ordered here.

They are now on the verge of five shows at London’s Wembley Stadium before taking their reunion tour across Europe, America, Asia, and landing in Australia this October for five huge stadium shows.

Oasis’ “Cigarettes & Alcohol (Live From Manchester)” is out now.
