Nikki Glaser might as well be the biggest Swiftie in comedy — but she won’t use her celebrity status to get herself a selfie with her fave. In a new interview for Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, Glaser revealed why she chooses to let Taylor Swift be when they’re at the same public events.
“I will never be the one to be like, ‘Excuse me.’ Ever,” Glaser said on Monday’s podcast episode. “It’s almost rude what I do when I’m in the same room as Taylor Swift because I won’t even look her way.”
“There’s no way that she’s dying for that on a night like this where everyone’s doing it,” she added. “And of course, she would be so nice. I know exactly how it would go down. But I don’t wanna take someone’s energy away [when] I require their energy to be put into making great music.”
The 2025 Golden Globes host joked: “I don’t want her to make a less great song because she had to be like, ‘Nice to meet you,’ and like, hold me as I’m crying.” Glaser insisted that she preferred not to “bother” the singer and allow her to have her space since “everyone wants a piece” of her.
Back in December, the comedian revealed to People that she had spent “close to $100,000” on travel expenses and tickets while going to 22 of Swift’s Eras Tour shows over the last two years. “I justify that cost because I don’t have kids, and it’s something that I consciously decided not to do, and it was something that I struggled with,” Glaser told the outlet, before adding, “People spend that much on their kids playing hockey for five years. So it’s OK.”
