Nick Cave has announced a rare run of solo shows in Australia.
Accompanied by Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass guitar, Cave will perform twice at both Sydney’s State Theatre and The Plenary in Melbourne in April of next year (see full dates below). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, December 13th at 10am AEDT.
The upcoming Australian shows follow Cave and Greenwood’s successful recent tour of North America. Cave last toured his home country late last year alongside Warren Ellis. The close collaborators took their 2021 album, Carnage, on the road, and three of their Sydney Opera House shows were captured for the live album, Australian Carnage – Live At The Sydney Opera House.
“I cannot wait to bring this special show to Australia next year, accompanied by the great Colin Greenwood. It is a privilege to share the songs with an audience in this way – stripped back and unadorned, revealing their essential nature,” the evergreen singer-songwriter says.
Cave features in Rolling Stone AU/NZ‘s December-February ‘Icons Issue’, which hit newsstands and Coles last week.
The special collector’s edition celebrates 50 of the most iconic stars from across Australia and Aotearoa, those who have broken boundaries, shattered ceilings and opened doors. These 50 living Icons are etched into the cultural history books — here and abroad — and continue to inspire the next generation of Icons.
In the realm of music, Rolling Stone AU/NZ delved deep into the anthems that have resonated with Aussies and Kiwis for generations and considered artists who have impacted the music scene. Cave made the cut alongside legendary Aussie singer John Farnham, rapper Iggy Azalea, Blackpink‘s Rosé, and many more. You can view the full list of 50 Icons here.
