Motez Teams up With The Kraken Black Spiced Rum to Create Ocean-Inspired Soundtrack

“I’ve never been tasked with having to create a track that replicates sounds of the ocean depths,” says Motez. “This was definitely a first for me and a super cool collab at that.”

One of Australia’s finest producers has teamed up with one of Australia’s best dark spirits to create something truly unique, with Motez and The Kraken Black Spiced Rum uniting to create a soundtrack inspired by the darkest depths of the ocean.

Earlier this week, The Kraken unleashed their limited edition bottle, The Unknown Deep, encrusted in black and gold, to pay tribute to the legendary sea monster whose name is found upon the bottle itself.

In celebration of this creation, The Kraken has turned to the world of music to give The Unknown Deep the release it deserves. Noting that the bottle itself is “salvaged from The Kraken’s lair”, The Kraken Black Spiced Rum have joined forces with Aussie producer Motez to deliver a track which features a “compilation of mysterious murmurs, unidentifiable echoes, and submarine sonars” in an effort to bring the listener closer to the mythical beast itself.

While Motez is famed for his distinctive use of melodic tunes and house beats, “Unknown Deep” continues in this same vein, bringing together the above aspects and masterfully mixing them with a club-like crescendo. Following on from his most recent release – October’s “Give Your Heart Away” – the new tune sees Motez not only taking his musical and compositional skills to the next level, but showing how versatile and adventurous his music can be, much like the connection between the song and The Kraken’s latest release.

While the limited-edition Unknown Deep bottle of The Kraken Black Spiced Rum is available now via Dan Murphy’s and a range of independent retailers, Motez’ “Unknown Deep” will be available through Spotify from Wednesday, December 9th.
