Following her biggest support tour to date with Ed Sheeran, Melbourne-based powerhouse Mia Wray will bring her own shows to Australia’s East Coast later this year.
The tour will celebrate her brand-new single, “When We Were Young”, released last week. The single is a nostalgic, synth-led pop belter reflecting on long lost friendships, and how people who were once so close to you can become strangers. It’s about growing apart, evolving and following your gut.
It will kick off at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Friday, April 17th, before shows at Melbourne’s Howler and Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory.
Tickets will go on sale at 11am (local) on Friday, February 6th. A presale will run from 10am (local) on Wednesday, February 4th – sign up here.
“When We Were Young” was written in LA with Jack Klenick, who has worked with the likes of grentperez and Laurel, and Alexandra Veltri, who has worked with Paris Hilton, and produced and mixed by Scott Horscroft, whose credits include Empire of the Sun, Middle Kids, and DMA’S.
“’When We Were Young’ is kind of like my Peter Pan song. I have a hard time accepting that people grow up and move on and I just wish that everything could just stay the same forever,” she said of the song.
“I’m so excited to announce these intimate shows. If you discovered us on the Ed Sheeran tour, I’d love for you to come see me and my band play more of the catalogue – plus some brand-new songs. Can’t wait!”
