With just over two weeks to go until the launch of the Melbourne edition of the Summer Sounds Festival, the whole event has expanded with the addition of support acts and an extra show of alt-rock icons.
First announced late last month, the Melbourne leg of the festival follows on from its appearance in Adelaide earlier this year. A refreshing chance for music-lovers to see live music in the setting it is supposed to be enjoyed in, the initial lineup included performances from Ball Park Music, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Bernard Fanning, the beloved Spacey Jane, and much more.
Now, the festival has announced its array of special guests, with the likes of Alice Ivy joining Ball Park Music and Thelma Plum, while Smarts will appear alongside King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Tropical Fuck Storm. Both Didirri and Mia Wray will perform on the same stage as Bernard Fanning and Something for Kate, while Carla Geneve will open proceedings for the sold-out Spacey Jane and RAT!hammock date.
Meanwhile, the Summer Sounds Festival has also added an extra show to the lineup, with Aussie alt-rock icons Spiderbait, Jebediah, and Bodyjar set to take the stage on Friday, March 5th.
