Acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby and US soul sensation Allen Stone have joined Pōneke’s On A Good Day festival lineup this December.
They complete the three-day concert series alongside Irish songwriter Dermot Kennedy on November 30th and indie rock group The War on Drugs with Austin rock favourites Spoon on December 1st (see full details below).
Both newly announced artists will close out the event on December 2nd at the picturesque Anderson Park in the Botanic Gardens.
Also announced today, Corby will play a separate solo show in Tāmaki Makaurau at The Powerstation on December 1st, set to perform new songs from his first album in five years, Everything’s Fine.
Warrick Dent, GM Events & Experience WellingtonNZ, said: “On a Good Day is a great addition to Wellington’s events calendar. The Botanic Gardens is the perfect spot for the series and will continue to ensure the capital retains its reputation as a destination for great events.”
Mark Kneebone, Managing Director of Live Nation New Zealand, added: “Continuing to invest in Wellington’s entertainment landscape and bring world-class acts to Pōneke is an ongoing priority for us and we look forward to On a Good Day becoming a calendar event showcasing top international and domestic talent in the capital.”
After a five-year hiatus, during which he and his family tragically lose their home in the 2022 NSW floods, Matt Corby returned with his third studio album, Everything’s Fine, earlier this year. It became his third consecutive album to reach the top 10 of the ARIA Albums Chart.
