Marlon Williams was always going to tour his homeland before going on break.
Earlier this week, the Lyttelton-born singer-songwriter announced an extended touring hiatus.
“I’m gonna take some time away for a bit. Probably not ages in the scheme of things, but it’s time to take some time!” Williams wrote in a press statement.
Williams’ run of Australian shows next month was thought to be his final shows before his hiatus, but he took to social media today to conform a New Zealand tour.
“Kiaora e te whanau ō ngā motu, I hope you’re staying safe and dry! The Benders and I are coming home for one last bunch of shows before we shut down shop for a while, and we’ll be playing tunes from the last album all the way back to the first. Nau maiiii!” he wrote.

Williams and his band will play shows in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, and Christchurch at the end of May (see full dates below). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, February 24th at midday local time. The pre-sale begins at the same time on Friday, February 20th.
Williams took out the top spot in our Best New Zealand Albums of 2025 list with Te Whare Tīwekaweka. The deeply personal record will likely earn the Lyttelton-born musician awards recognition in his home country later this year.
