Maisie Peters has officially returned to Australia, and she couldn’t be more excited to be back.
The UK pop star kicked off her ‘Before the Bloom’ Australian run last night (March 1st), marking shows she describes as unlike anything she’s done before. Rather than a traditional album tour, Peters said the performances are designed to celebrate the full arc of her career so far.
“I’m so excited for the shows,” she told Rolling Stone AU/NZ ahead of the tour opener. “This is the first time we’re going to be playing ‘My Regards’ live with a full band, we’re going to be playing ‘Say My Name In Your Sleep’ too, those are two songs that I love and that feel like such a huge part of the album.”
The new singles come off her forthcoming album Florescence. due out May 15th. It comes two years after The Good Witch, which peaked at No. 4 in Australia and No. 9 in New Zealand. The 15-track album depicts a “blossoming” of Peters through such formative years, as well as a blossoming of a love that anchors her.
“This album feels like a true representation of healing, of finding hope, peace, and strength not just in somebody else, but in yourself. It is knowing that there was a point to all the sadness of before, and the point is the woman you see in this mirror now, and the person you see by her side,” she said in January.

Alongside the new material, Peters said the setlist for her Australian shows intentionally traces her artistic evolution, featuring some of her earliest releases from eight, nine years ago.
“It’s unlike anything I’ve done before, it’s not an album tour, but I want the shows to feel like a real living embodiment of the journey that I’ve been on in my career,” she told Rolling Stone AU/NZ. “The set is so wonderful to me and really embodies Florescence.”
Now nearly a decade since her debut (2017’s “Place We Were Made”), Peters says the tour offers a rare chance to pause and reflect. “It’s something you don’t always get to do as an artist – celebrate the journey and the different moments so far,” she said. “It’s been almost eight or nine years, so I’m really excited.”
The ‘Before the Bloom’ tour continues in Sydney tonight with a sold-out show at Enmore Theatre, before two shows at Melbourne’s Forum later this week. See here for more details.
