20 years on from the release of one of their most beloved records, Magic Dirt have announced a special anniversary edition of What Are Rock Stars Doing Today.
Originally released on October 2nd, 2000, What Are Rock Stars Doing Today served as Magic Dirt’s third album, following on from critically-acclaimed classics such as Friends in Danger and Young & Full of the Devil. Charting at #34 in Australia, it wasn’t their most commercially-successful release, though it spawned their first charting singles by way of “Dirty Jeans” and “Pace It”, and even scored an ARIA nomination for Best Adult Alternative Album.
Now, following vinyl pressings of their early EPs in recent years, the group have continued their series of reissues, announcing a special vinyl re-release of the album in celebration of its china anniversary.
Revealed this morning, the group are set to release a special white vinyl version of the album on November 13th, with pre-orders for the record, shirts, and a special combination bundle available now.
Magic Dirt have also announced that $5 from every t-shirt sale is set to go to Support Act, “a much needed Australian music industry charity that supports artists, roadies and music workers in crisis”. The release of the record and the shirts coincide with the upcoming Ausmusic T-Shirt Day event, which takes place on November 20th.
The 20th anniversary edition of What Are Rock Stars Doing Today will be released on November 13th, with pre-orders available now.
