Close to a year after he first announced his upcoming visit to Australia, Louis Tomlinson has not only expanded his 2021 tour, but changed the venue of his Sydney show.
Announced this morning, Tomlinson’s June 2021 visit to Australia will begin with a performance at the Hordern Pavilion, having previously scheduled to take place at the Big Top, on June 20th. The One Direction co-founder will them head down to Melbourne for a sold-out show the following night, with a newly-announced date in the city set to cap off his three night tour of the country.
Originally planned in October of 2019, Tomlinson was scheduled to perform two dates in Australia in April of 2020, before COVID-19 restrictions saw these dates pushed back more than a full year.
Since the announcement of these initial dates, Tomlinson has followed up a series of solo singles with the release of his debut album, Walls. Despite charting highly around the world (including a number six spot in Australia), critical reception was somewhat mixed, with some reviewers noting that the album was a musical attempt for Tomlinson to break free of his musical past and break new ground.
Tomlinson’s eponymous World Tour originally kicked off in early March, with two performances in Spain. However, the remainder of these dates were swiftly postponed, undoubtedly leaving the artist eager to complete his unfinished business.
Tickets to his forthcoming tour are on sale from 12pm local time on Thursday, October 22nd, with a Live Nation pre-sale beginning at 11am on Wednesday, October 22nd, and running for 24 hours.
