This one’s for the international pop stans: On Tuesday, Blackpink star Lisa and Spanish pop queen Rosalía announced that they’ll release a collaborative single titled “New Woman” next Thursday, Aug. 15.

Sharing the single’s release date on Instagram, the cover art sees both stars staring sensually into the camera in shades. Rosalía rocks a furry pink coat, while Lisa channels her inner Motomami with a leather corset and jacket.

Fans began speculating about the Rosalía-Lisa collaboration after the Thai star shared a snippet of the track earlier this week. The video featured the singer dropping a Spanglish lyric: “Bangin’ it, bangin’ it, wanna crack these walls/Bangin’ it, bangin’ it, wanna echo through the halls/Pullin’ up, fresh face, brand new día.”

The single has seemingly been a longtime coming as both stars have shared their love for each other for years. During an interview with Radio Disney México in March 2022, the Spanish star described herself as a fan of Lisa’s and alluded to a collab. “I love Lisa. I’m a fan of hers,” said Rosalía. “To me, I love her. She dances so well and is so talented.”

And in May 2022, Lisa gushed about the Spanish star during Blackpink’s cover story interview with Rolling Stone. “Rosalía is so cool. She has her own Spanish culture, that’s inside her person, that influences her music,” she said. “ I’m curious to know how much I can expand what I do. Music-wise, dance-wise, I feel like I still have to learn more.”

Lisa launched a new era of solo pop music last month when she released “Rockstar” and has been teasing an upcoming LP under RCA Records. For her part, Rosalía hasn’t released new music since her Bjork collab “Oral” and one-off single “Tuya” last year.
