Leon Bridges is bringing his ‘Happiness Anytime Tour’ to Australia next year.

The tour marks the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter’s seventh visit to Australia, opening with a Sydney Opera House Forecourt show on Friday, February 26th. He’ll also play Brisbane’s On the Banks, Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre, and WOMADelaide Festival in March. See full dates below.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Thursday, September 24th, following a Frontier Members presale from 9am on Wednesday, September 23rd. All times are local. Sign up for presale here.

Bridges said: “I’m always excited to get back to Australia. I’ve had some really special moments there over the years, and I’m looking forward to returning and sharing this party with everyone.”

The dates come in support of Part Three of Bridges’ fifth studio album, Happiness Anytime (due out September 25th). Parts One and Two, released earlier this year, draw on the sound of his 2015 debut Coming Home alongside his collaborations with Khruangbin.

The album was produced by J Lloyd-Watson and Lydia Kitto of British trio Jungle. Bridges said of the album: “For me, happiness is not a feeling that you chase. I want this album to be something that lingers with people and lingers in people’s bones.”

The latest single “Talk It Over” comes with a music video shot in Amsterdam.

New Jersey-based 54 Ultra – project of singer-songwriter John Anthony Rodriguez – will support Bridges across Sydney, Brisbane, Fremantle and Melbourne, bringing his signature blend of indie-rock and Latin music.

Surprise Chef will also support in Melbourne, with new music from their fifth studio album, Frogs In A Pond (due out October 23rd via Concord Jazz).

Bridges was recently named among the first artists to lead the WOMADelaide lineup when it returns next year. Also performing at the festival, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary, are British ska icons Madness, and Algerian rock band Tinariwen.
