Genre-hopping supergroup LEISURE are back.
The New Zealand outfit – composed of members of Kids of 88, Goodnight Nurse and more – have announced their fourth album, Leisurevision, which will follow 2021’s popular Sunsetter.
According to a press release, LEISURE’s upcoming album “navigates the human experience, and all the hope, joy, chaos and euphoria it entails.”
Leisurevision is also supposedly encapsulated by the colour green, representing balance, peace and tranquility. Leisure by name, leisure by nature.
“We’re so grateful to our ever-growing LEISURE family around the world, the connections you’ve made and the adventures you’ve taken our music on,” the band say. “Our last album, Sunsetter, was released in the height of our lockdowns and we greatly missed being able to celebrate with you.”
The album is led by LEISURE’s new single “Always”, a typically bright and breezy song about the value of bring surrounded by friends and loved ones.
“So much has happened in our worlds since the last record and in a lot of ways life has highlighted how important it is to be surrounded by the people we love,” the band add. “”Always” begins a new phase in our LEISURE journey by acknowledging those we couldn’t continue on without.”
To accompany their album announcement, LEISURE have also announced a run of 2023 tour dates. In their home country, the band will perform in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in October. Following that, they’ll head to Australia for shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in November and December (see full dates below).
Beginning in Christchurch on Friday, October 6th, they’ll head to Wellington and Auckland over the following week (see full dates below).
