Lainey Wilson comes in like a whirlwind on her new song “Phone, Keys, Wallet.” The country singer describes her spacey nature to drive home just how bad she needs her “little list of go-tos” which is comprised of “Jesus, Jones, Mama, my phone, keys, wallet, and you.”
“I feel like a tornado with boots on half the time, and this song is really about finding somebody who’s okay with that chaos and chooses to love you through it anyway,” Wilson said in a statement.
The track features none other than John Mayer on electric guitar; he delivers a beautiful, little solo for the breakdown. Notably, “Phone, Keys, Wallets” was recorded at Mayer’s famed Chaplin Studios in Los Angeles after Wilson wrote it while she wrapped her Whirlwind world tour.
“Phone, Keys, Wallet” is Wilson’s latest release after a couple of singles from earlier this year. In March, the country artist shared her first solo song of the year, the upbeat romp “Can’t Sit Still,” which features black and white cover art akin to her new song. That same month, the country singer experienced a full-circle moment with Miley Cyrus on a duet version of “Younger You.”
2026 has been one hell of a year for Wilson, so far. She headlined Stagecoach in April, after facing delays for her performance. The singer also starred in her own Netflix documentary Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool. Currently, she is on the road for a slate of stadium show dates alongside Christ Stapleton that will continue through the summer.
