Ladi6 has announced her ‘Alofa: The Heartbeat Tour’ in New Zealand for November 2024.

The tour will support her upcoming single “Alofa,” which drops on her birthday, November 7th. It kicks off the following day in her hometown of Ōtautahi Christchurch, and will then visit The Sawmill Cafe in Leigh on Saturday, November 9th.

Next, she’ll perform at Meow in Wellington on Thursday, November 14th, followed by Catacombs in Dunedin on Friday, November 15th. The tour will continue to Totara St in Mount Maunganui on Friday, November 29th, and wrap up with The Others Way in Auckland on Saturday, November 30th.

She’ll be joined by long-time collaborators and producers of “Alofa,” Brent ‘Parks’ Park-Tamati and Brandon ‘Bharu’ Haru.

Described as a vibrant blend of Kraftwerk-esque breakbeat synths, dreamy arpeggios, and soulful vibrations, “Alofa” explores self-love through the pain of relationship breakups.

“I wanted to create a song that expressed the devastation of relationship break ups while simultaneously creating an atmosphere of musical resonance that expresses a kind of joy and peace in the transition of knowing you did the best you could and that’s all you can hope for, and that is enough…you tried,” says Ladi6.

An iconic Aotearoa artist, Ladi6 is known for her hip hop roots as a founding member of Aotearoa’s first all-female hip-hop crew, Sheelahroc. Her music draws on her experiences and Moana heritage, blending soul, pop, and electronica.
