Keli Holiday is set to make his debut at Nova’s Red Room next month, bringing his high-voltage live show to Selina’s at Coogee Bay Hotel in Sydney on Wednesday, 11th March.

Announced today, the exclusive performance will see Holiday — also known as Adam Hyde of Peking Duk — play to just 600 invited guests as part of the long-running live music series.

“I can’t wait to play some music off my new album Capital Fiction for the first time in the iconic Nova’s Red Room. Giddy up!” Hyde said of the upcoming show.

The performance follows a milestone run for Holiday, whose single ‘Dancing2’ recently returned to the top of the ARIA Australian Singles Chart and surged across global viral charts, propelled by a wave of TikTok momentum.

The track’s unconventional structure — sprawling, sax-laced, and defiantly anti-pop — says everything about Hyde’s new creative headspace.

“I think there’s joy in nosediving,” Hyde told Rolling Stone AU/NZ of the mindset behind Capital Fiction. “I think there’s joy in falling on your face and the hurt of it all.”

That philosophy marks a sharp evolution from the early days of the Keli Holiday persona, once described by Hyde as a “very confused, heartbroken man who still thinks he’s the shit.” Where the project once leaned into tragic bravado and late-night spirals, Capital Fiction lands as something more clear-eyed — a record Hyde calls one of “radical optimism.”

“I’m still the same old scumbag, just got some new shoes,” he laughed, acknowledging the growth without fully shedding the character.

Approached with what Hyde described as “a target on the wall,” the album became the first Keli Holiday release he feels ready to stand firmly behind. “I see this as the first Keli Holiday record that I’m happy to stand 10 toes behind and represent until the day I’m off this earth,” he said.

The Nova’s Red Room show also marks a return to Selina’s at Coogee Bay Hotel, a venue synonymous with Sydney’s live music history. Nova Network’s Group Programming Director Brendan Taylor described the booking as arriving at a pivotal moment.

“His new album marks an exciting moment in Australian music, and following his recent ARIA Award win, this performance comes at a milestone moment in his career… Keli’s momentum right now is undeniable. This is set to be a truly special night for fans and for Nova,” Taylor said.

Holiday will be hosted on the night by Tim Blackwell, co-host of Nova 96.9’s Breakfast show Ricki-Lee & Tim.

For Hyde, the intimacy of a 600-capacity room feels aligned with the analogue grit and emotional rawness that defines Capital Fiction. Working to unlearn years of polished electronic precision, he previously explained that instinct now governs his creative decisions.

“Oh, does that feel good? Fucking run it,” he said. “Does that feel bad? Throw it in the bin.”

It’s that same gut-led energy fans can expect when he steps onto the Selina’s stage — sweat, sax solos, and the kind of messy catharsis that thrives best in a packed, close-quarters room.

Listeners can enter for the Nova’s Red Room event via the Nova Player and radio shows for the chance to secure an exclusive invite.
