Kali Uchis‘ fifth studio album is on its way — and it now has a name. On Monday, the Colombian American R&B star revealed in a video the name of her upcoming LP, Sincerely, which is expected this year.
The clip sees the singer writing the news about the album in a note and sealing it, before walking away in a different, witchy outfit. “I dream of a home that even time will lie down and be still for. A place where everything works out the way it should,” Uchis says in the short video. “Sincerely.”
Uchis also wrote a letter to her fans, the Kuchis, over email. “Thinking of you and wishing you lots of love! I know I’ve been distant, but we’ll each other again sooner than you think.” The letter came with a GIF of Uchis flipping a note that read “Sincerely, the 5th studio album written and recorded by Kali Uchis.”
Uchis accompanied the album reveal by announcing that she had signed to Capitol Records, following its merger with Interscope. According to the label, she’ll continue to work with the same team behind her last two albums, Red Moon in Venus and Orquídeas. “Thank you all for the well-intentioned wishes on this journey, and thank you to my team!” Uchis said about the signing in a press release. “I have boundless gratitude for my silent ascent throughout the years and am very much looking forward to what’s next.”
The album announcement comes several weeks after she joined D4vd on “Crashing,” and more than a year after releasing her second Spanish-language album, Orquídeas, early last year, featuring Peso Pluma, Karol G, and Rauw Alejandro. (She followed the LP with a second part late last year.)
