Jimmy Barnes will headline a major outdoor rock show at Perth’s Kings Park & Botanic Garden this December, joined by Jon Stevens, Eskimo Joe and Sarah McLeod.
The concert will take place on Friday, December 4th, bringing together a lineup of Australian rock veterans and local favourites for the singular Perth date, which is a watered-down version of the South Australian Sounds By The River.
Barnes arrives off the back of another busy stretch. His 21st studio album, DEFIANT, reached No. 1 in June 2025, adding to a career tally of 22 chart-topping albums. Rolling Stone AU/NZ gave the album four stars, calling it, “a little bit Springsteen, a little bit Stones, and a whole lotta Barnsey.”
He has sold more records in Australia than any other local artist, and has been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame twice — both as a solo artist and as the frontman of Cold Chisel.
In 2025, Barnes also marked the 40th anniversary of For the Working Class Man with a new documentary, special vinyl editions and a series of major outdoor shows across 2025 and 2026.
Outside music, Barnes has also become a bestselling author. His books include memoirs Working Class Boy and Working Class Man, which won back-to-back ABIA Awards in 2017 and 2018, alongside Killing Time and 2024’s Highways and Byways: Tall Tales and Short Stories from the Long Way Round. He has also published two children’s books, and two cookbooks with wife Jane.
Jon Stevens will bring his Noiseworks & INXS Collection to the Kings Park stage, performing songs including “Take Me Back”, “New Sensation”, “Touch”, “Don’t Change”, “Hot Chilli Woman”, “Never Tear Us Apart” and “No Lies”.

Hometown favourites Eskimo Joe are also on the bill as the band enters its 29th year. Their latest single, “Miracle Cure”, adds to a catalogue spanning across six studio albums, 35 ARIA nominations and eight wins. The band, who recently celebrated 20 years of Black Fingernails, Red Wine, is also nearly one million records sold.
Rounding out the lineup is Sarah McLeod, founding member of three-time ARIA Award-winning band The Superjesus. McLeod, an inductee into the South Australian Music Hall of Fame, will perform alongside drummer Mick Skelton as their pair continue their rock duo project.
