Jessica Mauboy has gone independent, launching her own label, Jamally, in partnership with DistroDirect.
It marks the first time in her career that the ARIA-winning singer and songwriter will release music outside the major label system. According to her team, Jamally gives Mauboy full control over her creative process. from recording and releasing to marketing her music on her own terms.
“This is the start of a new chapter for me – not just as a singer or performer, but as a storyteller and businesswoman too,” she explains in a statement.
To celebrate her entry into the indie ranks, Mauboy drops the single “While I Got Time”, written with longtime collaborator PJ Harding.
The fresh track is synced to the Seven network’s Home and Away, soundtracking the emotional farewell of Irene Roberts, played by 2025 Gold Logie nominee Lynne McGranger.
On it, she sings: “It’s easy losing faith when you’re counting down the days. But I step into the great unknown with only love and grace.”
